Every generation of parents wants what is best for their children but there is something very special and very different about the way in which children experience childhood in the 21st Century. As a teacher with experience across all demographics and all age groups both locally and internationally, owner Zelna Lauwrens has the belief that our traditional schooling system is currently doing very little to address the toxic influences that come with the high paced, technological era that we live in.
Little Zealers Academy was born out of passion when Zelna, founder of Equal Zeal® Training, realised the need for hands-on interactive education through working closely with families and realising that they needed support that exceeded that found in traditional education. Careful steps were taken to create a school from scratch that addressed what every parent and child REALLY needs and wants. The basis of Little Zealers Academy is to provide a positive schooling experience that addresses the needs of ALL children as unique individuals.

Little Zealers Academy is a pre-school that strongly nurtures leadership and strives to stimulate young children towards independence. Zelna believes in keeping it “Real with Zeal!” The emphasis is to create a realistic learning environment where children use Zeal (energy and enthusiasm) to reach their own personal goals.

The founder and owner of the Little Zealers Academy- Zelna Lauwrens is a qualified teachers with 10 years teaching experience and a Honours degrees in Psychology of Education, and relevant business and administrative experience.

WHAT IS THE HISTORY BEHIND OUR SCHOOL?

Equal Zeal® Training, is an educational franchise group with branches countrywide which provide the building blocks for a positive lifestyle to families through innovative products, self development workshops and resources. As an organisation that has been the forerunner in supporting children for half a decade, and with philosophies that are tried and tested, Zelna involved herself in developing a pre-primary school that would be proudly committed to nurturing the same principles.

Little Zealers Academy has a true African flavour with all classrooms themed around co-owner Zelna’s book series launched in 2009 about rainbow coloured Zeal the Zebra. Each classroom theme is designed around a specific character from the book and we even have our own school song taken from our new CD “Zeal the Zebra Tunes” to be launched in 2010.
